Angela is a dancer in the Boston area, and travels throughout New England for both performance opportunities and dance education.  

 

As a small child, Angela was inspired by her lovely aunt, the Great Amera, watching her perform at many Boston area venues.  For years she dreamed of dancing like her, and finally realized her dream in 2006.

 

She started her dance training with Latin and ballroom dancing, and quickly moved into her love, Raqs Sharqui, as well as various styles of folkloric dance from the Middle East & North Africa.  Angela has primarily studied with the amazing Katia of Boston, and has taken classes and workshops with many international dance professionals such as Amar Gamal, Aziza of Montreal, Elena Lentini, Hadia of Montreal, Karim Nagi, & Yousry Sharif.

 

In September 2011, Angela became a member of Origins Folkloric Dance Company.  Origins is a professional ensemble dedicated to performing ethnic dances from the Middle East, Mediterranean, and North Africa.

 

As quoted by her beloved teacher Katia of Boston, "Life is a Dance"; Katia has taught Angela to always dance through life - learning, loving, & laughing through movement.  Angela gives all of her gratitude to her for being able to live her life as such!!
